For Facilities & Providers

Full Psychiatric Evaluation

Each Consultant provides a thorough and comprehensive psychiatric evaluation of present, and past, symptoms and treatment. This will include obtaining a detailed history of relevant and vital aspects of the individual’s life which may have influenced his or her mental, emotional, or behavioral health. This assessment will allow Peace of Mind Consultants to gain the most accurate understanding of the individual’s condition while working with the individual to create a meaningful plan of care.

Medication Management

All Peace of Mind Consultants align with the philosophy that, if medications are appropriate, every effort will be made to ensure that the patient will be managed and monitored on the least amount of medications possible at the lowest doses deemed effective. Medication decisions are made based on experienced clinical judgment, the current body of research, evidence-based practice, and collaborative patient feedback while making considerable effort to limit side effects and cost to patients.

Brief Therapeutic Intervention

We believe each interaction with our patients is an opportunity for healing. In addition to any treatment interventions discussed, we seek to provide specific, meaningful, and practical solutions towards recovery and resilience as a standard with every patient encounter.

Extensive Individual Therapy

Peace of Mind Consultants partners with Sentience Psychological Services, PLLC, a premier mobile counseling agency in the Valley, to provide traditional, individual, and group therapy support to long term care residents. Contact us for more information.

Interdisciplinary Team Approach

We at Peace of Mind Consultants believe in a collaborative team approach towards providing excellent holistic treatment. As a standard, we seek collateral observations and feedback from the facility medical team and direct care staff in gaining a thorough assessment of the patient’s psychiatric needs. We believe this approach gives us the best understanding of each patient’s unique condition while affording us the greatest potential for implementing successful interventions.

Pharmacy Collaboration

We will coordinate with your facility’s consultant pharmacist as necessary to systematically manage psychotropic medications which may appear ineffective or cause risks.

Medical Primary Care and Consultation

We offer collaborative Primary Care and Consultation Services through our Adult and Geriatric Medical Specialist. This service provides greater holistic health support and continuity of care in addressing our patients’ comorbid medical and mental health needs. If certain medical conditions would benefit from more specialized attention, our medical team will provide referrals and assistance in seeking out preferred specialty medical providers for necessary treatment.

Psychiatric Mental/Behavioral Health Consultation

We provide urgent psychiatric behavioral health support to facility staff and affiliated medical providers managing complex patients in our contracted facilities. We are readily available to offer practical and concise clinical guidance in managing difficult behaviors during a crisis.

Psychotropic Reductions

While we know that some medication interventions are medically necessary to achieve psychiatric stability, a few medication interventions come with a greater level of risk. At Peace of Mind Consultants, we consistently evaluate and document the benefits and risks of each medication intervention. Our goal is to clinically support medication interventions managed at the lowest effective dose while safely and gradually reducing medications which may no longer be appropriate for the patient.

Quality Assurance Support

A vital aspect of delivering quality patient healthcare is remaining accountable for the services we all provide. This is why we have familiarized ourselves with the standardized national, state, and community measures of quality care, by which each facility must remain accountable, and utilize these standards to guide our clinical practice. We remain informed on regulatory updates and will assist our facilities in exceeding the standards related to provision of psychiatric care.

Trauma Informed Care Training

Every patient is first, and foremost, a person who carries their life experiences with them upon admission. Unfortunately, many people have experienced difficult life circumstances which can become more difficult to manage in new and unfamiliar environments. We at Peace of Mind Consultants can assist facility staff in identifying and supporting the unique individual treatment needs of each patient in a discreet and dignified manner.

Staff Training / Inservicing

At Peace of Mind Consultants, we pride ourselves on our ability to deliver the most current research and evidenced-based treatment. We attend annual Continuing Medical Education seminars throughout the country to improve upon our expertise. We are eager for opportunities to share knowledge that will aid providers and facility staff in delivering the highest quality care.
